In 2021, he retired after 39 years in education, where he was a high school teacher for 13 years and 26 as a high school administrator, 21 of which he was a high school principal.

He embraced adventure with open arms, crafting a mosaic of extraordinary experiences that paint a vivid tapestry of his life. From cage diving with sharks in the treacherous waters of Shark Alley off the coast of Africa to exploring the mesmerizing depths of Belize's turquoise oceans through scuba diving, Ben's adventurous spirit knows no limits. His willingness to immerse himself in diverse cultures is exemplified by riding a camel in the vast expanse of the Sahara Desert.

Ben's list of adventures is as extensive as it is captivating. He has gone on safaris in southeastern Africa, visited over 20 countries, bunji jumped and zip-lined through the lush rainforests of Costa Rica,  He has experienced the exhilaration of several tandem skydives, including one with the Army Golden Knights skydive team. He has flown in a sailplane, driven a race car, and even appeared on popular game shows such as "Wipeout" and "The Hustler."
